Fender Strat Tuneup

Fender Strat Tuneup and Setup

The Fender Strat is a classic electric guitar that is justly famous for its role in the history of blues and rock music. The quality of individual Strats can vary from excellent to dismal depending on model, year, and country of manufacture. Most Strats, regardless of quality, will benefit greatly from some basic tuneup and setup steps. The guitar shown here is of great quality with excellent pickups, but it was having string buzzing issues and the owner wanted to add a bone nut.

Building a Monarch: Binding

The quality of the binding and purfling work is one of the factors that makes a guitar a true work of art. Some builders install bindings and purflings in one step, and this can lead to less-than-perfect results. Dogwood guitars are bound using a … [Read More...]
