Contact Dogwood Guitars

I am now retired from active lutherie work. This includes all setup and repair work, classes, and guitar building.

Many have asked if I will still accept work from time to time. For over forty years I have put my customers first. Now in retirement, I am putting my family, friends, and myself first. That said, I may occasionally do some work at my discretion. If you are local to central Ohio and wish to be placed on a notification list for qualified work, please email me at: dogwoodguitars@gmail.com. Or you may send a text message to 614 348-2147.

PLEASE NOTE: I will notify names on the wait list at my discretion if and when I want to do some work. I will not be actively monitoring emails and phone calls/texts and I will not be returning them. After all, this is retirement! Thank you for understanding. If you require immediate help, please seek a qualified local person to help you. Unfortunately I do not have recommendations for such persons.

Preference will be given to repeat customers, and to work that I most enjoy. Topping this list is restoration work on vintage guitars, and teaching setup and repair.

For various reasons, I will not be accepting guitars shipped from out of state, working on mandolins, banjos, dulcimers, or other non-guitar work. No neck resets on off brand or imported guitars. I do not paint or refinish guitars. I am no longer doing inlay work or cutting shell. I do not do stainless steel frets.

I wish to thank from the bottom of my heart all those who have supported me for over fifteen years, who have trusted me with their valued instruments, and who have shown me friendship. I love you all!

1968 Fender Jazz Bass Neck Work

A customer brought me a very cool 1968 Fender Jazz Bass neck. The neck is fretless and- as the Beatles would say, "very strange"- it had no nut slot. There was also a piece of binding missing at the heel. The customer was interested in having the … [Read More...]

Customer Testimonial: Dogwood Monarch

"I loved my handcrafted Yamaha LX5 until I played my brother's Larrivee. So I bought a Larrivee. The Dogwood acoustic makes my Larrivee sound like my old Yamaha. The Dogwood is superior to my Larrivee D-03R in every way - tone, action - even looks. I … [Read More...]
